The first car will be a car build for the GP2 class of the WRl and STU class of SCCA. This car is based on NC MX5 chassis and will have a 2.5 liter engine and BMW paddle shift. The car will be very inexpensive to maintain and fun to race. The paddle shift takes the hard to drive factor out of the equation so all members can drive regardless of heel/toe capability. .
There will be other classes of cars as the race company expands. This car running cost excluding tires/fuel/crashes is estimated to be about $250 an hour.
Since the race club is designed for multiple drivers the WRL endurance racing is ideally suited for this concept. The series allows for multiple drivers and spreading the costs per race makes it economical The race cost per car for a weekend excluding travel and entry fee is about $20,000 shared four ways is less than $5,000 per driver, a real bargain for racing.
